 A Perfect Leader

Who is a leader? Do you want to be a respected leader? A leader is a person who oversees a team, group, or company (Armstrong, 2014). It is a very simple task to become a boss but to be a good leader it takes courage. Employees or followers enjoy and respect leaders who have good manners and etiquette (Rees & French, 2016).

How to be a perfect leader?

There are so many ways a person should take in order to become a perfect leader.

Being honest

A leader should always speak only the truth about your work. Being honest increases your demand and value at work. People trust for being honest and it drives employees to follow the leader due to his/her honesty.

Constant Monitoring

Employee activities and behavior have to be monitored and should be aware of everything. Depending on how well the employees have performed, a good leader should address based on the outcome with humility.

Motivating your followers

Motivating and leading from the front is a quality of a good leader. Followers do not rely on or follow the leaders based on primary external rewards but on the work they have done and they are intrinsically motivated by having a passion for the work they do (Horth & Vehar, 2012). A leader should motivate their followers by identifying their needs increasing their skills, engaging with them, and trusting in them. “Good leader makes the employees believe that they have more ability than they think so they tend to do better at work”.(McCourt & Derel, 2003).

Reward in public and punish in private

It is very important that a good leader should know when and how to appreciate and warn or educate an employee. It can be either good or poor work. If it a good work, the leader should appreciate the employee in public. This action would motivate the employee and others to perform better in the future and warning or educating on a mistake would increase the trust and passion towards the leader or the boss.

Inspire People

Generally, people are slow; inspiration will increase the pace and love towards the job they do. Followers admire a good leader’s work being a role model. They work fast, and quick with passion this would inspire his/her followers to perform better at work.

Share Credit with staff

Once a particular task is completed, the credit should be shared among everyone. Most of the leaders do the mistake by accepting the credits to themselves. This is a demotivating factor. Hence, the credit for success should be shared among the team which will motivate the employees to perform better in the future.

Communicate clear vision

It is very important that the leader should educate the employees about the company goals, vision, mission, and strategies in order to have a clear target. Employees are very much concerned about their job and contribution to the company. This will make the employees work more engaged and productive (The Lee Group, 2019).

Conclusion

It is basically how you reflect in front of your employees that make you a better leader. People start trusting you once you start to do everything consistently. The above samples will help you to make your employees into followers. Leaders should inspire people. Good leaders leave a legacy behind. Good Leaders make more leaders within the organization. It is a constant process where a person will not become a leader just like that but by doing good work every day and gaining the trust of employees.
